The Waconia Wildcat U-15 Boys (C2) Team won the Dakota Rev Tournament held during the weekend of May 16-17. This is the second Dakota Rev tournament win for the boys - they took the championship two years ago as a U-13 team. The team won three hard-fought games on Saturday and Sunday morning on their way to a decisive win (7-0) in the championship game where they beat Faribault. Congratulations Guys!!
Congratulations to the Waconia Boys U14 C2 team for winning the Dakota Rev Tournament for the second year in a row!
The team started out Saturday morning with a win over Tonka United, 1 goal to nil. That afternoon the boys went on to defeat Eagan Wave by a score of 2 to 1. The next morning saw the Wildcats play to a 1-1 tie against Valley United Pumas, the lone goal for the opponents coming on a penalty shot. That tie gave the team enough points to be named the winner from their pool of 6 teams and advance to the championship game against Northfield United. In a very well-played game, the score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. After two 5-minute overtimes, the game was still tied, so it was on to a shoot-out. With some fantastic work at goalkeep, Waconia triumphed and won for the second year in a row. Amazingly, both tournament wins ended in shoot-out finishes!
